As the British Council have offices in 80 countries, getting everyone together to receive information and ask questions at the same time is challenging … that’s where we come in.
Working with The British Council on webcasting their Internal Communications, we help to enable interactivity between offices and employees resulting in improved communications.
We provide all AV production services for their events, the questions coming in live from the on line audience and the presenters being able to ask the online audience poll questions.
We also work with the internal IT team to ensure that all employees worldwide are able to view the events on the day.
MOD Streaming were asked to live stream sessions for Nestle and DE Master Blenders at the CAGE (Consumer Analyst Group Europe) Conference 2013 which was held at the London Hilton Metropole.

Ricken Patel, Co-founder and Executive Director of AVAAZ, was the keynote speaker and delivered an inspiring lecture entitled “Opportunity Through Enterprise”.

We were thrilled to have been asked to film and broadcast JK Rowling’s book launch at The Southbank Centre in October this year. Thousands watched the high quality live stream which we broadcast to The Southbank Centre’s YouTube channel. Straight after the live event, we provided a post production edit and made the high quality edited version available to news channels around the world and to the YouTube channel.

MOD Streaming regularly work with Haymarket on a variety of projects, the latest being webcasting support for their high profile PR Week’s first ever “Question Time style” online TV show, ‘The Message in the Media LIVE’ which was streamed live from Millbank Media Centre in London. Chaired by Lord Tim Bell, the show features a panel of leading PR experts answering questions posed by live and online audiences covering the most prominent themes in PR and the media today.

MOD Streaming provided AV production and streaming services for a 2 day Experts Dialogue Programme in London for a large Pharmaceutical client. Services included HD filming of the plenary sessions, synched with presenters’ PowerPoint slides, which we made available for the clients’ intranet, and high quality DVDs of these sessions for the delegates and clients’ sales reps. We also set up a green screen studio at the venue and filmed interviews with KOL’s throughout the event as well as providing a roving film crew to film Vox Pops of the delegates which we edited on-site during the event and which were shown on plasma screens during the 2 day conference.
MOD Streaming filmed plenary sessions from the 10th European Congress on Epileptology at Excel, London and provided an on demand webcast which will enable those who are interested in the content and weren’t able to attend, to view the event online at their leisure.
The high profile programme of debate, discussion and music around the Arab Spring entitled Arab Revolutions: What You Need To Know was streamed live by MOD Streaming from The Southbank Centre. As well as providing all AV production services, MOD Streaming webcast the event live to The Southbank’s YouTube channel and provided edited on demand content.
Wandsworth Registry Office delivered their 250th wedding webcast earlier this month after the installation of a third system.

Media On Demand launched its latest version of the successful Wedcast Webcasting system at the Local Registration Services Association Conference in Birmingham this month. The demonstration system was received with strong interest from many of the delegates.
Media On Demand Streaming webcast live from World Book Night 2012's special London flagship event, which took place in the Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Southbank Centre on the 23rd April 2012. The event was hosted by Hardeep Singh Kohli, with readings from authors and celebrities and introduced by Festival of Ideas' Director Andrew Kelly.
Art centres and libraries hosting their own World Book Night celebrations, including Bristol’s Watershed and Edinburgh Central Library, showed the high quality live stream from the Southbank Centre on plasma screens to their invited audiences and feedback was fantastic!

Media On Demand launched its latest version of the successful Wedcast Webcasting system at the Local Registration Services Association Conference in Liverpool this month. The demonstration system was received with strong interest from many of the 150 delegates.
October was a landmark month for Media On Demand’s commentary service when one of our clients exceeded one million unique listeners in a single month. We have seen a dramatic growth in the take-up of the service since the start of the season due in part to the increase to fifteen languages covered.
Wandsworth Registry Office delivered their 150th wedding webcast earlier this month and confirmed that a third system will be installed before year-end.
A spokesperson for the Registry Office commented “The success of the service has been beyond our expectation with the systems having paid for already.”
Health Secretary Andrew Lansley, NHS Chief Executive Sir David Nicholson and Deputy NHS Chief Executive David Flory delivered key speeches live from the NHS Chief Executives’ conference in central London.
The live webcast saw them set the priorities and operating rules for the NHS in the coming year. Andrew Lansley spoke on ‘Building the NHS of the future: the role of NHS leaders in improving quality and putting patients at the heart of the NHS’. Sir David addressed the complex challenges facing NHS leaders and emphasised the importance of keeping patients at the centre of everything the NHS does.

The British Council’s Leadership Meeting was broadcast live from their London headquarters to 100 hundred countries around the world using Media On Demand’s CDN.
Liaising with British Council communications and technical teams, Media On Demand ensured all the locations could view the live webcast and take part in a live Q&A session. Feedback from their Director of Communications was that the event was “a real success and gave staff all over the world a chance to engage with senior colleagues about the topics that mattered”.
Media On Demand delivered audio commentaries of all 56 matches from the Rugby World Cup live to a global audience. The work was done for a number of sports sites in Europe as well as a large sports portal in South Africa.
After the major annual 2011 event, the creation of the BSGtv site has been completed and will enable users to view all of the historic content, byrelevant categories or using the key word search funtion. With test certifications available on a number of presentations, this site will be used as a learning tool as well as a reference area. The site is continually growing as new events take place.
For a third year Media On Demand have webcast the Coop's Annual General Meeting which features video footage of the event accompanied with slides and the opportunity to for members to ask a question directly to the Coop.
Haymarket Medical required one of our teams to fly over to Lisbon, Portugal to film Cancer Tales directed by Trevor Walker. Cancer Tales is a high profile and hard hitting look at how cancer affects people's lives. The show was webcast to a medical based audience and recorded to DVD for future educational purposes.
Weddings are taking off on the web and Wandsworth are leading the registery offices into a new opportunity in having Wedcast technology installed into a second room within the Council. The service is expanding beyond their expectations with high take up rates for happy couples wanting to have their wedding broadcast live to friends and family who are unable to make the event. With the additional feature of having the oppotunity to download the wedding onto an iPhone or Android, it won't be long till all weddings are broadcast in this way.
Haymarket are taking the lead with the next generation of webcasting. With this comes additional features that enable both Haymarket and presenters to head live webcasts with limited interaction from Media On Demand. Those features include the capabilities to offer live Q&A, real time live polls and live presentations.
With the Barcelona Casino as the setting, Media on Demand filmed and broadcast live over the Party Poker website the World Poker Tournament. The 6 hour tournament was a great success with the winner taking home over 200,000 Euros. With technology tailored to the tournament including a flop camera and on screen card animations, the audience was able to be part of the game streamed at broadcast quality.

Alemba are a fast growing IT software training support organisation who asked Media On Demand to film, creatively edit and host an on demand webcast that would be used in a company newsletter and also as a main feature on their new re-vamped website. We also provided a demo for a new product that Alemba have developed using live screen capture. Alemba moved next door to Media on Demand some months ago in Haslemere.
'Realtennis.tv is a new venture designed to show our sport of Real Tennis to a wider audience via online broadcasting. We are so glad that we were introduced to Media on Demand. What an amazing four days – quite literally all the stars and the cars. Media On Demand streamed the live action from the stage at Dunlop stable yard for this years’ Goodwood Festival of Speed. We had viewers logging into the stream from over 180 countries, and for the first time this year viewers could ask the drivers and celebrities questions via the insideracinglive site.
Media On Demand were joined by the Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP, Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport along with clients and supporters of the company to share our 10 year anniversary. Jeremy revealed his plans for bringing superfast broadband to the UK by 2015 - a welcome improvement which will support flawless high definition streaming and brings the UK in line with other European countries that already benefit from fast internet speeds.
An exciting and thought provoking lecture by Dr. James Martin, “The Guru of the Information Age”, was webcast live over the Internet by Media on Demand. The lecture was held in the famous Faraday Lecture Theatre of the Royal Institution of Great Britain and broadcast live to a global audience. Dr. Martin’s lecture entitled “Science and Technology: Impacts on Society in the 21st Century” was followed by questions both from the live audience and those watching on-line, indeed everyone was so transfixed that the event ran over by nearly an hour!

The virtual conference market is seen to explode in the coming year. A report last month by Market Research Media said the marketplace will grow to $18.6bn over the next five years and Media on Demand is actively participating in this growth with a new range of features being added to their webcasting and streaming solution.
With organisations looking at ways to seriously cut travel costs and hotel expenses in the wake of recession and the recent volcanic activity as well as to better utilise employees working practices; webcasting is proving a real winner.

The service which takes in all horseracing in the UK on two channels with a separate channel specifically for Irish Horseracing.A fully configurable and customisable Content Delivery Network manages the service allowing for automatically entering previews and post event summaries as well as delivering live and on-demand statistics and analytics through secure web access.
Media On Demand broadcast the third in a series of live, interactive webcasts for a major international Pharmaceutical on the 21st September from Savoy Place in London. The events are webcast to a number of satellite sites around the UK where the broadcast is delivered on plasma screens, as well as to doctors viewing from home and in their offices. The format of the events allows for questions from the online audience to be asked and answered live during the event.
Media On Demand streamed a live flash webcast from the recently refurbished Royal Institution of Great Britain Headquarters in London. The controversial debate, “Science Reporting – Is it good for you?” was an open discussion on the state of science reporting in Britain and was lead by Minister Lord Drayson and Dr Ben Goldacre (author of Bad Science). The start of the new football season saw us sign up five new sports sites for our custom In-Play Commentary Service. In addition to providing off-tube commentaries on all English Premier League matches in English, Italian and Spanish we also deliver all matches where home sides are involved in the Champions League and UEFA Cup competitions. Internationals and other world class games and competitions are also covered.

Thinking that August would be a good month to make our move proved somewhat unfounded as it turned out to be one of our busiest months in the companies history.. The move gives a brand new contemporary custom office facility with sound proofed conference room, edit suites and recording studio. We chose to stay in Haslemere because of its easy access by train to central London and its close proximity to the major road networks in the South-East (A3, M25, M4 and M40 and M27)
Coverage of all five test matches in the Ashes Series and the seven one day matches will be delivered live to a number of sports sites. This premiere service has generated tremendous initial interest from a global audience and we are planning to add this service to our other sports by covering all of England's matches going forward as well as other high profile cricketing events.

Media on Demand webcast the event live from Dunlop's replica set of the Le Mans track with its iconic Dunlop Bridge. Throughout May and June, Media On Demand are webcasting six regional and the national AGMs for The Cooperative Group live over the Internet to Coopertive members - from Kettering , Croydon Cardiff , Edinburgh Leeds , Devon and the national in Manchester - these events enable the Coop members who are unable to attend the events, to participate by viewing all presentations with synchronised slides, download documents relating to the event and e-mail in their questions which are answered live and broadcast during the webcast. All events are available for on-demand viewing afterwards.
Media On Demand broadcast the second in a series of live, interactive webcasts for Flynn Pharma on the 14th May from The Belfry in Birmingham. These events are webcast to a number of satellite sites around the UK where the broadcast is shown on plasma screens, as well as to doctors viewing from home and in their offices.
The council’s planning committee debated the KIG application on May 7 at the Maidstone TV Studios, The meeting was broadcast live by Media On Demand on Maidstone Borough Council's website and was made available immediately afterwards for on-demand viewing. MOD streamed Britannia's AGM live in high definition from the NEC into 53 Britannia branches around the UK on the 29th April 2009. The largest event ever held by Britannia, it was a historic day for the organisation with members voting on a merger with The Cooperative. The webcast was made available on demand for the general public and made available in multiple formats.

Media On Demand delivers The Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela Concert from The Royal Festival Hall to World Wide Audience.
One of the world's most exciting orchestras visited the Southbank Centre for the week of 14th April. The final concert on the Saturday evening was webcast live in high definition directly to large screens Caracas, Venezuela as well as to the Sage Centre in Gateshead. In addition the webcast was watched by an invited audience from around the world. It was an uplifting and inspiring experience and enjoyed by a full house at the Festival Hall as well as many thousands watching over the Internet.

Earlier in the year Media On Demand installed an automated webcam solution to display and record the renovation and building of the New Carnegie Stand.
Media On Demand working with Cadogan Hall has produced a Flash application for the delivery of all of the Royal Symphony Orchestra concerts. The application has been seamlessly integrated into the Cadogan Hall site using the existing payment system.
Media on Demand has been working with Law South for six months supporting the development of the first in a series of on-line training courses. The service went live on the 14th January 2009. The format is a series of one hour training videos followed by a live on-line question and answer session with the presenter. The training offers accreditations towards personal development (CPD).
The first phase will be used for capturing the demolition and reconstruction of the Carnegie Pavilion and the second is a portable webcasting system to be used for broadcasting commentaries and interviews from YCCC’s website. It will have its first outing when YCCC travel to Dubai in February 2009 to deliver commentaries of the matches for a local radio station as well as on the YCCC website.
The forum for professional engineers and scientists was held at The NEC from 28-30 October with all of the keynote speeches and many of the breakout sessions from five additional seminar theatres webcast live and then made available on-demand. In addition a daily video diary showing video highlights of the conference was posted using Media On Demand’s new product, Yourstream.TV.
The Doha Debates are a monthly forum for free speech in Qatar and the Middle East, tackling the most controversial issues in the Arab and Islamic worlds. Media On Demand has been delivering the webcast and podcast service for three years and has just signed an extension of the contract.
The Inquest into the death of Jean Charles de Menezes website will be hosted on Media On Demand’s secure Content Delivery Network. Media on Demand were chosen because of their experience in handling this type of highly sensitive content. Earlier in the year Media On Demand hosted all of the video evidence for the Diana Inquest.
The contract is to deliver UK Premiership, La liga, Serie A and Champions League matches in English, Spanish and Italian. The games will be delivered using Media On Demand’s Flash Streaming Service and is integrated into the bookmaker’s in-play application. We will be delivering in excess of 300 games a month during the season.
